Prizm (PZM)

Prizm (PZM) is a cryptocurrency that has implemented the technology of "paramining", allowing all its holders to participate in the issue of currency.

According to the developers of the site, cryptocurrency meets all the basic principles of blockchain systems: decentralization, honesty and publicity.

The source code for the software architecture is completely open, developed by Prizm based on the Java 1 NXT puncture. The algorithm used does not depend on the concept of “coin age” characteristic of other cryptocurrencies. It has strong protection against "nothing at stake" attacks. The protection method used is Proof-of-Stake. Mining is available on our own equipment.

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH)

Bitcoin (BTC)

Bitcoin (BTC) is the first successful, cryptocurrency, from a commercial point of view, also its code is completely open.

However, Bitcoin has the minuses inherent in its architecture:

slow transaction processing need a lot of power for mining requires a lot of storage space difficult to scale Now there are already many altcoins (analogues) that surpass the technologies and functions inherent in Bitcoin, but it played a big role in the popularization of cryptocurrencies, as a result of which it has become a kind of "gold standard" in the cryptocurrency world.

Ethereum (ETH)

Ethereum (ETH) is a platform implemented as a single decentralized virtual machine. It is based on smart contract technology and is used to create decentralized online services based on blockchain.

The Ethereum launch itself took place on July 30, 2015

Now Ethereum is one of the most popular cryptocurrencies, as it greatly simplifies and cheapens the implementation of blockchain. It is used in numerous ICOs, as well as in building a blockchain economy. You can even say that this currency has more prospects than Bitcoin, because, as described above, Ethereum can act not only as a medium of exchange and storage, but also has the function of creating smart contracts.

What is the blockchain?

The term "Blockchain" is already quite common. But not everyone fully understands what this technology is. Let's see what it is.

Features of blockchain technology Simply put-the blockchain is a notebook, copies of which are stored simultaneously on many computers - such storage is called "distributed". Distributed storage makes it impossible to fake information, because in this case you need to change the information not on one computer, but on thousands. Any information that needs to be verified can be stored, in practice it can be information about: issued credit obligations; registered marriages; copyright; anonymous votes; the results of drawings; traffic violations and so on. That is, this technology is applicable in virtually every area of human life.

As we said, blockchain has an important feature-data is not stored in one particular place, but distributed among many computers. Any member of the network has the right to access the current version of this database, and can view any document or history of its changes. This ensures that copies are synchronized for all users.

Blockchain is a public chain of electronic records, which stores records of all operations since the creation of this chain. Transaction records are grouped into "blocks", miners are responsible for confirming the correctness of the formation of blocks (and take commissions). Almost all cryptocurrencies are built on blockchain technology. For the first time, this technology is used to create bitcoin. Therefore, the concepts of "blockchain" and "bitcoin" almost always go together. Thanks to data encryption, network members can only change the blocks to which they have access.

As a result, we can say that the blockchain allows you to make financial transactions without intermediaries. For example, funds are sent through a decentralized network that provides security and transparency of the transaction. Blockchain is actively developing and being introduced into traditional business spheres: banks, insurance and logistics companies, etc. the Scope of blockchain application is constantly expanding.

How does blockchain work?

So, the blocks are formed sequentially, one after the other. Cryptographic algorithms are used to link blocks together. Each new block is added to the end of the chain. The new block is linked to the previous ones using a complex mathematical cipher. Encryption in the blockchain is called hashing. To "get a hash" is to create a 40-character code in which the message will be encrypted. To pick up a hash to crack a block (de-hash) is almost impossible: to create each hash requires the power of a huge number of computer devices that are in a single network.

A hash is an analogue of a digital signature. A block signed with such a signature is considered approved and recorded in the blockchain. After adding a new block to the blockchain registry, it is impossible to make corrections to it, so fakes are excluded. The registry update occurs simultaneously on all computers on the network. It is this feature that resists "hacking" or manipulation of the blockchain: all computers in the network store the same information. To change it-it is necessary to change it simultaneously on all computers that is impossible purely physically.

How will blockchain help us?

Thanks to blockchain technology, you can safely send any digital assets from one point of the world to another. To do this, the parties must have bitcoin wallets with "closed" (secret) electronic keys.

The private key gives access to the information recorded in the block. Thus, for example, you can transfer a certain amount of money to another person. This operation will be visible in the blockchain, but in addition to the address on the " input "and the address on the "output", no data will be known about the participants of the operation.

Today, businesses are beginning to actively use blockchain to earn money in various areas. Companies are developing applications on the blockchain that provide:

secure network administration, resistant to hacker attacks; storing digital certificates that allow secure access to sites; bilateral transactions without involvement of third parties; authenticating an object using the appropriate certificate; creation of business cards in electronic form; registration of ownership of real estate; storage of notarial records.

The scope of application of blockchain technology continues to expand. The technology is mastered by banks, insurance, logistics and other companies.

How to get started with blockchain?

Blockchain technology is used in the creation of digital assets-tokens. Tokens indicate that their owner is entitled to some asset or a number of services of the company. The number of tokens corresponds to the amount of investment that their owner has invested in the project. The project can be any: payment platform, diamond sales, banking, computer game and so on.

The most popular platform for creating projects on the blockchain is Ethereum. This platform allows you to create tokens and conduct ICO for any project. Through ICQ, projects raise funds that are used by developers to implement their ideas. All invested in the project are provided with tokens, like shares, which are received by investors in the real world.

A bit of terminology on the blockchain and cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency-a kind of digital currency, the creation and control of which are based on cryptographic methods.

A token is a digital asset issued to attract investment in a cryptocurrency project or company. A kind of cryptocurrency, which in their properties are closer to stocks or bonds. Issued during the ICO and subsequently traded on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Altcoin (alternative coin) — all cryptocurrencies except bitcoin.

Fiat is a currency that is real. This includes rubles, dollars, euros, hryvnia and other currency, which is backed by state obligations.

ICO (Initial Coin Offering — initial coin offering) - an abbreviation by analogy with IPO (Initial Public Offering — the first public sale of shares of the company) — is a way to attract primary capital using cryptocurrency.

Crowdsale is a pre-sale of tokens organized to attract collective investment in a new project before placing on the ICO.

Fork-using the code base of a software project as a start for another. In this case, the main project can both continue to exist and terminate it.

A hard fork is a software update that embeds a new rule into the network that is incompatible with the old software.

Softfork — update software that is compatible with the old software.

Address-cryptocurrency address is used to send and receive transactions. It consists of alphanumeric characters, but can also be represented as a scanned QR code. A bitcoin address is also a public key used by bitcoin holders to digitally sign transactions.

Wallet is a software application that allows you to make a transaction from a given address and view its balance.

Transaction — transfer of funds between two addresses

The foundations of security in crypto-currencies

Security basics When creating a new account or installing applications where your cryptocurrency funds will be stored, you must adhere to the basic security rules:

Security when working with wallets If you have funds in cryptocurrency or you are going to buy them, then most likely you already have a cryptocurrency wallet. That is why we decided to remind you about the basic safety rules for working with them:
  • Watch out for the safety of your computer.
  • Use complex passwords.
  • Back up your data: SEED, Private Key, etc.
  • Always include 2FA where possible.
  • If possible, additionally use hardware crypto wallets such as: Trezor, KeepKey, Ledger, etc.
